ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ Participates In Give Back Day At YOUth CAN Chicago

CHICAGO, July 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- For many nonprofits, a lack of financial resources and access to qualified contractors hampers their ability to repair or improve their facility. In an effort to address these challenges, and to help revitalize low-income homes and communities across the country, created Give Back Day, a program that matches corporate sponsors with nonprofit facilities in need, while providing a setting for employees to work together to serve their communities.

On July 27, 2016, ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½'s 100 interns will participate in a Give Back Day at . This volunteer project is part of ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½'s Intern Week, which brings together students from diverse colleges and universities to take part in an array of activities that includes a philanthropic event, panel discussions and presentation of their capstone project results.Ìý

"One of the most meaningful aspects of ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½'s summer internship is the participants ability to volunteer in the communities where we live and work," said Sarah Pang, Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications and Community Involvement, ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½. "Through the classroom and community involvement, the interns gain an understanding that positive business results and community involvement are both attributes of a successful company. We hope this stays with them throughout their careers in insurance."

YOUth CAN was founded in 1984 as a computer training center, and in the years since has served more than 4,000 students. Today, the center focuses on enriching the academic, cultural and social development of disadvantaged youth through academic assistance and programs in computer technology, art and music. The center also serves veterans' groups and other community organizations.

Earlier this year, ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ partnered with the National Roofing Contractors Association in a to celebrate National Roofing Week and to share the good deeds of the roofing industry.
